Looky Here!

Isn't it brilliant?! It's a christmas card from fellow animator, Heather (owner of Home of H Art). That's her on the left and me in the Santa suit. Teehee! I 'recieved' it this morning when I went to get my breakfast. You see she left this morning to go home for christmas and left this on the kitchen table. It was a lovely surprise to find it. I love it so much I just had to show it off.

CHRISTMAS IS HERE!

Please excuse the rubbish scan, the colours are much richer on the original.

New Blog

Ok guys, I have no idea why I'm telling you all this as it will be of no use to you what so ever but I suppose it may prove of small interest to you all.
Since I am at university I am required to create what is known as a PDP and PDF. PDP stands for Personal Development Profile whilst PDF stands for Professional Development File. The PDP is part of the PDF.
Basically I have to write down everything and anything I find of interest/use to my animation course. I find it extremely tedious and boring but it has to be done. Apparently it's a government requirement now. So this post is basically to let you all know that I have now started a new blog for this specific purpose.
I'm not expecting you all to religiously go and visit every day to read what I have entered but at least if any of you check my profile and see this little "Animation PDP" blog listed then you will all now know what it is.

Right, that's the post done with so I'm off to bed seeing as it's now 20 to 3 in the morning and I have class tomorrow. Goodnight.

Attention All!

This is just to let you all know that I have now updated to the new Blogger (beta) and so I can no longer post on blogs that aren't on the new system. So unless (until?) everybody else not on the new system switches or until the feature becomes available, I wont be able to post there. Hmm, seems like I just used the words 'blog' and 'post' quite a lot. Ah well.
At least if I seem quiet on anyone's blogs you'll know why now.

Check this out!

This here is the blogger site of one of my friends from university. It is called "Home of H Art" and has lots and lots and looooots of wonderful art on display. I suggest you go and check it out.
Heather (the blog owner) has requested that you don't critique her work though as she wants it as more of a place just to display her work but she isn't adverse to comments. I just want you all to see her work. (I'm in some of it too!)

Are you still here? Why?! You should have followed the link and be in silenced awe by now. Go!

Oh yeah and I'll be adding a link in my side bar too. :)

Uni Work

Ok. Do I usually start posts with "ok"? I don't know. Do I really care? Uuum, no.
Anyway, this is just a quick post to let you all see some of my work I have done for university. By "some" I mean two pieces. I have done more but it's not all on the net. I really should have finished it all by now but you know how the internet is; it sucks in your soul and never lets go! *shakes fist at internet*
Blake
Above is a link to Blake and he is a sk8r kid. Ha! Look at me using text speak. I need to come up with a story for him to feature in and so far I have NO ideas! OH NOES! No, really. I have no ideas and just under two weeks to draw out his story board! I have drawn a sheet of his expressions though.
Blake Expressions
If any of you have any ideas of what he could get up to and don't mind me using those ideas then could you please suggest them in the comments? I really need something to give me an idea. Oh yeah and it has to involve "emotion".
I thought I said this was going to be a quick post? Why did non of you interupt me? WHY?! Ah never mind. I'm just off to go and hit my head against a brick, or possibly stone, wall until I get an idea.... or concussion, whichever comes first. Wish me luck.

Oh by the way, you have Fat Tony to thank for me posting this update. He asked in the shoutbox if he could see some of my work.

Lucid Dreams

Has anybody reading this ever had one? Or more? I'd love to know if you have. For those looking and wondering what I am on about, a lucid dream is a dream in which you are aware you are dreaming. O_o Supposedly it is also possible to take control and alter your dreams, and yourself, as you see fit.
I was reading a website on the topic about a week ago and I have remembered a dream from every night since! They aren't lucid dreams but I'm remembering my dreams a lot more often now. Before I would remember maybe two or three a month then go for a spell without knowing I'd been dreaming and then have a few more dreams again. It's been kinda odd remembering one every night.
I always write my dreams down if I can remember them but with all this dreaming recently it takes quite a while in a morning to get them down on paper. I'm thinking I could maybe adapt a few to use as storylines for my animation course. :)
Here's a quick example of the sort of dreams my brain cunjours up:
I'm in class with a teacher I hate but don't actually know. She gives me detention for hitting a kid, who has his arm in plaster, who was annoying me by trying to steal my book. He doesn't get punished. I go home and get ready to return for detention. When I head back I'm being driven in the front of a lorry cab with a young girl and older man. I am aware they are team mates, from where I don't know. It is my mission to break into the school, which now seems to be a scientific research facility, and photograph the class blackboard. To aid me I am given an invisibility suit! (Cool!) I get to the classroom and take the pictures. But before I leave the teacher who I hate turns up so I activate the invisibility my suit and stand still. As soon as I move to escape the suit malfunctions and the teacher can see me! (Oh no!) Just then a woman on a motorbike stops outside a window on a ramp. [about 10 floors up!] I jump out of the window and onto the back of the bike where we ride to safety and I wake up.
The thing that stayed with me about the woman on the bike was that her hair was like fire. All orange and yellowy and it continually blew behind her even when there wasn't wind.
As I said, that was a QUICK example and I went into more detail than that when I was writing it up originally. Are any of your dreams as weird? Anyway....

Thank you for flying with Menaceman airways. I hope you enjoyed this brief excursion into my mind.

DeviantArt Pastie

Time for a long overdue update I think. It's not much but if you look down in the lefthand sidebar, well THE sidebar, you should now see a DeviantArt Pastie which, while NOT being an appetizing snack or small meal (sorry Fat Tony), WILL show three top pictures from DeviantArt.com each day! I would have chosen to show my own art work but I have to be subscribed for that, which I'm not :( Still, it gives you a glimpse of what great work there is there without having to visit if you don't have time or don't want to.
I hope it proves useful for all visitors to this 'ere blog.
Over and out.

New Animation!

Yaaaaaaay! At last I update my blog. I've uploaded another university animation over at deviantART. This one is entitled "Mixed Mush" and was the third to be produced. You can find more information in the description with the upload. As with the last ones you'll have to click "download" to see it. If your computer is too slow to stream it then I think you can right-click for all you Windows users and select "Save target as" I'm not sure what the Mac equivelant of that command is. Anyway I hope you enjoy it and you can find it here> http://www.deviantart.com/view/35416222/

Farewell Shoutbox...

(Sob) I've had to (sniff) say goodbye to my shoutbox seeing as (sniff) they no longer (sob) seem (sniff) to exist! All those wonderful memories....... (sob) Still, I can always try to get a Saybox like Derek has. Right, I'm off to try and get a Saybox! Wish me luck.

Nintendo Wii

What a stupid name for a console. It was revealed on the 27th of April that the new Nintendo console will be named "Wii", pronounced 'we'. I certainly prefered the code name "Revolution". It just sounds cooler. Just imagine you're gonna buy one and you say to your mates; "As soon as I've saved up enough cash I'm gonna get me a Revolution". Sounds good right? Now try it this way; "As soon as I've saved up enough cash I'm gonna get me a Wii" Not cool. Your mates would just laugh.

According to Nintendo it was named Wii for the following reasons;

Wii sounds like "we," which emphasises this console is for everyone.
Wii can easily be remembered by people around the world, no matter what language they speak. No confusion. No need to abbreviate. Just Wii.
Wii has a distinctive "ii" spelling that symbolizes both the unique controllers and the image of people gathering to play.

I currently own a Nintendo Gamecube and I really like it but I very much doubt that I shall be buying a Wii. The controller is just too weird for my liking. If you haven't seen it yet it looks like a TV remote and you only use one hand. Apparently you wave it at the screen to move in games rather like a light gun. I'd feel like an idiot waving a "remote" at the TV.

Ho hum, I shall wait until I can test it in store to see what I think.

Howl's Moving Castle

I've had "Howl's Moving Castle" on DVD for quite some weeks now and today I fanally got around to watching it! I thought it was brilliant. For those of you who don't know what I'm on about it's a Japanese film based on a book by Welsh author Diana Wynne Jones. It's one of many films from Studio Ghibli and I think it was released in the cinemas some time last year. I would try and give an outline to the story but thinking back I'm not sure I can follow the storyline back in my own head. I think I'll watch it again this weekend to clear it up in my mind.
Still it was very good and I would recommend people to watch it. So, erm, I suggest you go watch "Howl's Moving Castle". I highly recommend it.
I think my next mission is to see if I can find and read a copy of the original book.
Wish me luck.

AC:WW

Otherwise known as Animal Crossing: Wild World. I love the game. I also have the Gamecube original although I haven't played on that in quite some months. Maybe I should before Stuville self implodes.
Anyway, here is a picture of what I currently look like in the game.
What do you all think? Very handsome I'm sure.

What type of villain?

Apparently this is what type of villain I would be:

What Type of Villain are You?
mutedfaith.com.

I think it's quite fitting.
Let me know how you lot turn out, I'm guessing Fat Tony would be the "World Leader" type.

Birthday Time!!!

It's my birthday! Yeah, yeah, yeah!!!
Today I turned 19. Technically it wont be until 20 past 9 tonight though. This is the first birthday I've ever had away from home and it's kinda strange but I've had plenty of cards to look at.
Has been a great day so far as I got the day off uni because of the caretakers striking.

deviantART

I just thought I would let you know of a place called deviantART where you can go and view my art work* and that of thousands of others as well. There are over 8 million "deviations" and they are great to look at. My work, as well as my M.A.T.E.S comic is all free to view. You only have to become a member if you feel strongly enough to leave a comment.
I urge all readers of this to go and take a visit. My page can be found at www.alistu.deviantart.com . I shall add the site to my links list shortly.

* By art work I mean drawings, photographs, paintings, embroidery, etc. It has everything!
